The feather in fashion: 1920s, 1970s and beyond

I have recently come across some great blogs covering the feather's influence in fashion.

From the Queens of Vintage:

"The result is that right now, feathers are everywhere. From pantomimic peacock plumes to demure hen feathers, plumage has been spotted on catwalks and red carpets alike, establishing itself as the fashionista’s staple accessory"

From Ecosalon:

"A naive touch, like wearing a feather in your hair, appears to me to connect to our collective sense of hope for a better world right now – or perhaps, a heart’s desire to fly far away from unnecessary war, regressive politics and environmental devastation"

From the 1920s elegantly styled feather dresses and boas to the bohemian style of the 1970s, and burlesque dancers, it seems a little bird can make an impact on humans.

Just like furs, feathers can also come under the same scrutiny by the public and activists when used in everyday fashion. What often is overlooked by fashionistas is where the feathers come from, they just care about how they look.

Everyone purchasing feathers by designers or for their craft, need to understand where the feathers come from and how the birds are treated in the process. In my case if the supplier can't tell me these details I don't use them.

While I agree with the ideas behind this blog. It doesn't cover the process of collecting feathers from naturally moulting birds. This is the process I favour with my creations. However, if a bird lives a happy long life and then the feathers are used, there is no harm, it is a tribute to the fine creature's existence to give the feathers a second life.

It's has been a while but I have been slaving away. I facebook much more than I get to blog! So after doing a fantastic resin course in Brisbane the other month I am on a resin high!! It is simply fantastic and if you are looking for something fun and creative to take up as a hobby I can't recommend working with resin enough!

Here are some of my latest creations. I have also been working on a few more feather designs but they have gone direct into The Collective Store at Wynnum and also on some custom pieces. I have been flat out. I'm also working on my other label Miss Rockabilly so my spare time after work is pretty jam packed!

Supporting the Queensland Flood Victims

Well it has been an interesting start to 2011. I have many new designs to come and the year was looking very positive until the state I live in was devastated by floods.

Lives have been lost and many businesses in Queensland as well as residents have lost their homes, cars and precious possessions. Even livestock had to fend for themselves and in some cases, family pets put down as they couldn't be taken with rescue efforts.

This is why the Australian nation is banding together to raise funds for flood victims. While Queensland got battered with rain and floods, Western Australia has been fighting bush fires. The two extremes on each side of the country. Now not only has Queensland been affected by floods but parts of New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania have also been affected. And with cyclones looming off the Queensland coast, all eyes are watching for more rain.

Now the clean up begins and it will take months for Queensland to get back to its original beauty. This is why I have supported the BrisStyle Handmade Heart Beats for QLD. Well as a last minute dash I got accepted into Miss Pin Up Australia - QLD Heats on this Friday night! A big stress to get all the accessories sorted but luckily I already had my outfits planned. The competition celebrates everything 50s and I have chosen a collection of day wear, evening, swim and lingerie that reflect my take on the competition. After modelling the outfits there is also a talent section and I will be performing a 50s song. It is an exciting time and also nerve-wracking! I will keep you posted with results for Marilyn McSweetie and Peaches St Claire from the evening. My outfits that will be worn have been inspired by the gorgeous Bettie Page. Tell us a bit about your brand and how it came about… Also, what inspired you to start your business?

I started Hopeless just under 2 years ago, a short time after I finished my TAFE course. I have been sewing my own clothes since a young age, and from pretty soon after I finished school I knew I wanted to have my own business.

The dream for the brand really just came to me in a flash late one night. I scribbled it down on a piece of paper beside my bed, and in the morning I looked at it again and just knew exactly what everything was going to like, and how I was going to get started. The vision and spirit of the brand has pretty much stayed the same since that night.

I knew that handmade lingerie was a niche market, which suited me, as I never want to do enormous mass production, and I also love vintage styling, so it was really a marriage of my love for unique and special things with a vintage look.

I have been selling for just over 1 and a half years, and my expectations have been completely blown out of the water in that time! When I look back, it has all happened so fast, and I really am so thrilled about it all!

What is the best part about what you do and is there something you dislike doing?
I love working from home and being my own boss, and all the creative people I have come in touch with as a result has been wonderful. That is probably the best thing.

At the moment I work 7 days a week, and I must admit it is really hard to stay on top of everything. I definitely need to get better at organizing the business and accounts side of things. My strengths lie with the creative side so it is always a struggle with the less creative parts of running a business.

Is Hopeless and Hopelessly Devoted hobbies or full time business?
I do still work on weekends to make sure I have enough money for rent and bills, but I do Hopeless and Hopelessly Devoted 5 days a week and most nights.

Do you have any advice for other sellers that may be thinking of doing their craft full time?
Make sure you really love it. Because it will take up every second of your time and take over almost all parts of your life! Especially when you work from home, it is very hard to escape from it, and I pretty much never switch off.

It is a huge amount of work, but it is so much more fulfilling and the rewards mean so much more when you have worked so hard to get somewhere.

If you have one tip that you could give fellow online sellers to improve their exposure or sales, what would it be?
Just get involved! There are so many opportunities to get in touch with people online, and you need to take advantage of every avenue. You will learn as you go which work for you and which don’t. For some Facebook will generate the most traffic and sales, for others Twitter, for others blogging. There is no one recipe that will work for everyone. It depends on your business, your personality and strengths.

For me, having amazing photos has been a huge key in getting my work out there. That is obviously a lot to do with my product though too – I need that kind of package to sell what I am selling.

If you are selling supplies, or smaller items that might not need modeling, you can easily get amazing pictures with a small digital camera and a sunny afternoon.

Inspiration & Product Development... Just what we all need!

I recently took part in a Craft Swap with Ember from Emberatia. The idea was to swap an item of equal value between crafters and share the love! This was part of the Etsy DUST Team that I am a part of. This event happens quite frequently and I had a bit of spare time so decided to give it a shot.

I would highly recommend getting behind a craft swap to all sellers. It is selfless and another way to get your product out there. Now there is always the worry that one party won't contribute but hopefully honesty does prevail for craft swaps. I would love to hear everyone's feedback about craft swaps or something similar if you have taken part.

I asked Ember what she liked in my product range and she liked 'long' earrings. So I worked with this idea and created my Be Daring Purple Feather Earrings. I had combined these colours before with my first 'Be Daring' concept but the texture of the Emu and Peacock feathers used in the new design have really lifted the product I think. See the comparisons below.

Ember really liked her feather earrings so sometimes it is good to ask what style others like. I was always worried about 'long' feather earrings because of the 'tickle' factor but sometimes it just works! Inspired by her feedback I decided to create a set to sell in my shop as well...

Rowena, What do you make?
I make luxury handmade greeting cards, vintage tag sets, bookmarks, and other stationary and altered art. Anything that I can stamp on!

How long have you been creating?
I've been creative all my life but I only got started stamping and papercrafting 3 years ago when I was pregnant with my now 2 year old boy. I think it was the first real chance I'd had to really get involved with a hobby after years of working long hours in beauty spa management.

How did you come across these materials/styles of crafting?
My style is developing all the time as I discover new techniques, or become inspired by something. When I began blogging over a year ago it opened up my eyes to the wonderful types of papercrafting and the cool stamps that were available.

Who or What inspires your work?
Whenever I'm feeling uninspired I spend an hour or so looking through other stampers blogs-the talent out there couldn't fail to inspire and spark a new idea!

Is this your full time job or hobby?
I'm a stay at home mummy and any chance I get (my sons nap time and bedtime) I work on my etsy shop and create new projects.

Where have you been most successful selling?
I'm really only starting to see good sales from etsy in the past couple of months when I've been really concentrating on promoting it etc, before then I sold items to local shops and word of mouth.

Do you have any advice for fellow sellers trying to get more sales that has worked for you?
The only recommendations I can make that have helped me is if you're selling on etsy or another similar environment read the business posts-take advice, begin an active member in the forums, promote as much as you can (business cards, fanpages etc, blogging) and keep creating and listing those new items. Also respond to what others say that would like to see in your shop where possible, and always take custom orders!

In Your Face Networking (#3 How to Market Your Brand Online)

What are you doing to get your brand out there locally? You never know… your neighbour might like your stuff!

I have sold locally with great success in the past. If you are considering wholesaling your items to local shops try to find the balance between what you love and what will sell, remember don’t get offended if not everyone goes for your work! Stores have their own unique style that you need to fit in with as well. Here are some tips to improve your face-to-face networking:

Advertise Locally – I have a local newspaper but haven’t yet advertised which could be another option that I want to research and develop in the future.

Visit Stores Locally – Take a trip around your area if possible and visit some stores that you think may be interested in buying your items. I have made a few sales this way. Also, have a wholesale list of prices and product images that you can leave with them so they can decide and call you back when they want to order. Tangible material will emphasise a great deal and and stick in their mind. If it suits their store you may get an order!

Promote at Your Workplace - Yes it really is that simple, put up a flyer of your products on the notice board, send out an email to your work mates. As well as your colleagues liking your products, their family, children and friends might too!

Go To Markets - Find out what markets are in your area and even share a stall with a friend if it is too expensive for just you. Just make sure you have a lot of stock at great prices and try to coordinate a market before Christmas! I am currently looking into affordable markets in my local area to participate in this year.

Get Business Cards – It is that easy! Design some yourself or ask a local printer. Make sure it is simple, easy to read and keeps with your branding. Make sure it has international contact details so that everyone can find you! I have just designed some and will be getting them printed soon. They are essential for face-to-face networking! I am constantly getting asked by friends for my website so their friends can buy.

Make Gifts for Friends – that’s right, for all your friends even if it was just for a year, make their birthday and Christmas presents. Family and friends appreciate your talent so much that they will spread the word for you. Word of mouth is #1 for increasing your sales when networking!

Postage & Packaging

After deep thought, I don't think I will be offering free shipping anymore. After a nasty experience with the post office lady I don't see it financially viable anymore.
How much is reasonable post that you would pay on my items?

International Parcels are generally $9.30 but if I can send them as a letter (which is what is currently the issue... maybe it was just that one woman) they only cost about $3-4. This also depends on the item, my bulkier items have to be sent as parcels so they are a no brainer. Would you be happy to pay postage on my earrings etc? And what has worked for you? I am thinking to leave my free postage offer just for this month and change in May. Any thoughts?

How long have you been selling on Etsy and how long have you been selling in other areas?

I started my adventure here on Etsy in July 2008, then I did some artisan markets, fairs and I've tried a few stores. I have a shop also on DaWanda, but it takes too long to follow both. I wish I could sell only online and accept some wholesale orders.

Is this your full time job or hobby?

It started as a hobby, I was on maternity leave so I had much time to devote to creativity. Still, I am full time mom and this is my unique work!

Describe your typical day/week relating to your business

I can say that I spend almost an entire day dedicated to Etsy. Early morning I read my email, chat in forums with members of my team and I write something in the blog. If I sold something overnight I print the addresses and sent emails of thanks.

During the afternoon I am busy creating new pieces and photographs, about 2-3 hours. Then I put new items on Etsy, at different times if possible. Every week is different, I have no fixed quantity of items to be completed it depends on the time of each one, but I try to list at least one new item every day. If one day I don’t have anything new, I renew something I already have for sale on Etsy.

In the evening I make the packages for the products sold. One thing I always do during the day is to check if the treasures are about to expire, I try never to miss an opportunity to make one!

I also update twitter and facebook and I comment the blogs that I follow.

What do you think makes you stand out when customers purchase from you versus your competitors?

This is something that every seller is asked.... I think the most important thing is the pictures, is the first thing the customer buys, then also the service, and a wide range of items.

It is very important to create your own style, try to be different from others, to be noticed among so many professional sellers who make the same kind of things that you do.

Be active. Update your store with new items often, to ensure that customers continually return to watch the new things that you have. And never stop improving your service, photos and packages.

Do you have the same or better success elsewhere?

No, probably Etsy was my greatest success but maybe it's my fault, not spending the same time on other sites. I was successful, even in a real shop, where my things sold immediately, but I could not continue selling to that store, due to time restraints.

Are you a buyer and seller on Etsy or just a seller?

I had signed up to Etsy to sell but I found many things on there that are really beautiful, I would like to buy everything. I have no problem buying from other sellers, in fact I am glad that we support each other. I have not met a seller who does not buy from others.

If I have to make a gift, I like to buy supplies from other Etsy sellers.
I buy mainly supplies and accessories for my packages. However I have also bought hair accessories, a moleskin, a Felt Food Cake Pincushion, a painting, a banner, and some gifts.
Do you heart other sellers and if so why?

Oh yes, everything I see that is cute I give them a heart. I usually heart images that inspire me for a future treasury. In fact, my treasuries arise mainly from the images that I have saved among my favorites.
I also love to make collages on my blog, so my favorites can also make a theme on there.

Any General Tips you have come across for fellow sellers that you may want to share…

I do not consider myself a best seller, in fact, I am just beginning and I still have much to learn.

My advice: Be very patient if sales do not come quickly. Do not be discouraged. Having a team that supports you and helps in growth is a very important thing. Be very active not only in your shop, but also in the community. Comment on the Etsy Blog, attend events organized by Etsy, make many treasures, and do not be afraid to know the other sellers.

How Long Have You Been Creating?

I have always been a creative type of person and have been mainly making jewellery for the past 6 years.

How Did You Come Across These Materials/Style of Crafting?

I had just gotten into beading and was looking for something in my sewing box when I came across a packet of bright buttons. I had had these buttons for ages and when I found them I thought “I wonder if I could make a necklace from these?” That is how my button jewellery all began.

Who or What Inspires Your Work?

I am inspired by colours, I love to mix and match. Anything that is bright and eye catching works for me. I love so many jewellery designers who work with plastics, resins and up-cycled materials. Liana Kabel, a fellow Brisbane designer is a favourite she uses tupperware and knitting needles to create jewellery. Also American Margaux Lange who uses recycled Barbie doll body parts in her jewellery.

Is this Your Full Time Job or Hobby? What Do You Do with the Rest of Your Time?

I am a Mum, I have two small boys. One is 2yrs and the other is 4 months. I am lucky enough to be able to stay at home with them and not have to work but the kids are my full time job. I would say that jewellery is my hobby for the moment but I am working on turning it in to more. I would love it to be my full time job!

What is Your Creative Space Like?

My creative space is usually a complete mess. My handy Dad converted the garage into a room for us and added aircon. This space has become my studio and hubby’s computer room all in one.

Where Have You Been Most Successful Selling?

I sell my jewellery through some great stores in Queensland and New South Wales, (they are listed on my blog). The majority of sales are through these stores and I have recently started participating in markets, which have been going well so far.

Do You Have Any Advice for Fellow Sellers Trying to Get More Sales?

Don’t be afraid to say “HI, This is what I make, would you be interested in stocking it?” The worst they will say is no and there are plenty of other places out there that will say yes.

Social Networking (#3 How to Market Your Brand Online)

Well how to use Networking online to market your product is turning into an essay! Here is the next part...

SOCIAL NETWORKING

What social networking tools do you use online? I know this can get pretty intense to manage as technology is continually evolving, but sometimes getting involved can be worth it! Once again it depends on what you sell and who you want to sell to, but most of the time social networking online can work for your business.

I mainly use Facebook to promote to my friends and family that like my products and have had a few direct sales this way. I am also about to do a giveaway via Facebook and I expect to see positive responses from my fans.

You can also use pages like Myspace, Twitter etc. If nothing else, set up a Facebook business page! I don’t use Myspace as in my opinion it is old networking technology and more music and celebrity focused. I haven’t used my Twitter much, simply because I can’t stand its navigation features and lack of personality.

If you have a personal Facebook page, set up a Business Fan Page and send out invites to your friends! Remember not to bombard your fans with updates that aren’t relevant. Try things like providing an insight behind the brand, keeping your photos updated and fresh, competitions and industry news. There are many other social networking sites that you can use however, it is a matter of using one you like, can keep updated and somewhere you can find like minded people. Your target market might not use social networking so just negate this whole post!

What is one thing great about using social networking? Your business ranks high in Google search results! My Facebook page is the first result to come up in my business name search along with my online selling websites and other blogs linked to my posts. What ranks high in Google when you search for yourself or products?

Here are some tips for fellow bloggers or those of you who may be thinking of starting one.

LOOK AND FEEL

There are plenty of free blog templates online for you to look a little different. It doesn’t take too long to work out how to use them. What is great about blogs is that you can get one for free and use pre-designed templates without having extensive HTML coding experience (phew!). One thing I did encounter with blogger.com is some of the free templates were created in Word Press and aren’t compatible so they will have tabs at the top of the page like ‘home, contact, products’ but these wouldn’t work – so be mindful of that when testing and choosing templates. It took me a few goes to get one I like the look of and that is functional.

SELF PROMOTION

I started many years ago on blogger.com just writing a general diary of my daily events, they were pretty funny too because it was all based on customer service and the people I encountered… the weird and wonderful… Now I decided that I needed to get back into the blogging realm to boost my brand name on google searches and get more fans of my product! Blogs are great for your product launches, new ideas etc

FOLLOWERS

Your number of followers isn't the end of the world. I never stressed about how MANY people I had following my blog, it’s more about quality… about promoting to others that can relate to your brand and products and making new friends internationally. Recently I decided to up my followers and I did this by putting a post in the Etsy forums to find new crafters and I followed their blogs too, this was successful as most of you who may be reading this followed me from exactly that. Follow Others – find blogs that interest you by searching the web on a topic or posting in a forum. Follow others and make comments on posts you like!

CONTENT

You need to have interesting content in your blog otherwise you won’t get anyone reading your blog. Offer something more than your normal website offers so people have a reason to check it out! (personal profile, other sellers, hints and tips, videos, giveaways etc).

SUPPORT FELLOW SELLERS

Not everyone wants to hear solely about what YOU sell, feature some of your favourite sellers and spread the word. People appreciate new insights and new finds.

One downside of a blog is that not everyone has one, so can’t follow you or don’t know what to do to sign up. This is where social networking is great to target other markets that may be missed via the blogosphere! My next article will be on these networks…

I have been trying to find out the secrets to Etsian success and I came across Secret Jewellz.

Kathy was very supportive and has provided some valuable insights... Here are a few Questions and Tips for sellers.

Might I also add that Kathy has some fantastic pieces in her store at great prices and has really nailed it with her Banner - it is branding at it's best!

How long have you been selling on Etsy and how long have you been selling in other areas?
I've been selling on Etsy for a bit over 3 years now. I have also sold at my local market for 2 years at the same time I started Etsy. I have been on MadeIt but only list a few items now and again.

Is this your full time job or a hobby?

This is a hobby but can border on full time at certain times of the year such as at Christmas time. Although I have a big once a year sale which I start in September and everything seems to snowball from there.

Describe your typical day/week relating to your business

Typical day for me is checking my shop first up in the morning for convos and sales. Checking also to see if the sold item is my stock pile or needs to be made up.

If I am doing a new listing a lot of my time is spent trying to take a good photo. I can take up anywhere up to 15 photos choosing different backgrounds and then making my choice.

I love to use Flickr and think that good photos are really important when selling an item online.

Also sometimes I like to make up a little story or give a sentimental and meaningful description with some of my pieces. Customers have told me that they have bought a item because of the little story or sentimental meaning of a piece that I have written. So I feel like I have made a piece that means a lot or has some sort of attachment to it and has really made me feel good about what I do.

When things are slow I play around with my supplies and see what new ideas I can come up with. Sometimes a messy table can be a good thing. Although at some stage when I look my work bench and can't get anything from it I clean up.

I belong to two street teams on Etsy. The DUST (Down Under Street team) and EUFAG (United Filigree Artists Guild).

What do you think makes you stand out when customers purchase from you versus your competitors?

I think that my brand stands out. I love doing things that are a bit quirky and different. I have been fortunate enough to also have wonderful people who blog about my jewelery and also being in treasuries. I try to do the same for other sellers also.

Do you have the same or better success elsewhere?

I have to say Etsy has been the most successful selling venue for me. I am addicted to it and have always amazed at what I find there.

Are you a buyer and seller on Etsy or just a seller?

I am a buyer and a seller. I love the supplies section and have also purchased gifts for family members and things for myself. Lately baby oriented gifts from Aussie sellers on the dust team have been my recent purchases.

Do you heart other sellers and if so why?

Yes I heart lots of sellers and items. If something catches my eye which I love I will heart it be it from a competitor, supply seller or other seller. I just love to admire a lot of things and it never ceases to amaze me the wonderful talent on Etsy.

Any general tips you have come across for fellow sellers that you may want to share…

Believe in yourself and your product. Enjoy doing what you love. Step back sometimes if you have too. Don't be too hard on yourself.

If you want something badly enough it will happen. Hard work and consistency. It takes time to build a good customer base. Give the best customer service you can possibly give.

Try new techniques to keep your store fresh and full with different types of things. Variety is a good thing. As an example I have started teaching myself how to do metal hand stamping. A whole new world has opened up there to incorporate that into my work.

Product Development (#2 in How to Market Your Brand Online)

Make Something you Love & Have a Strong Theme or Brand

Every seller goes through stages of ‘finding’ themselves and I think the best way to see this is through their products. I started off making general beaded jewellery and needed to find my niche in the market… then I did through Feathers and Origami! I also find I am attracted to sellers that make unique pieces that I couldn’t normally find in shops, or quirky ideas that make you think ‘Why didn’t I think of that!?!’

The hardest thing for me (and I’m sure a lot of fellow creators) is to know what areas you are going to specialise in. I have seen a lot of forums that dabble in ‘is my shop confused’, and to be honest most aren’t confusing as the seller’s style flows through the shop. Just because you have a lot of different products (pillows and scarves) doesn’t mean your shop will be too confusing for buyers. If you have a ‘theme’ or ‘sense’ about your creations it won’t make much difference what you sell so long as that remains the same throughout.

I have thought about product expansion a lot lately. I like making earrings but also like making hair accessories and with different materials (paper, feather, chain). In essence I am still keeping within the same category (jewelry and accessories) but sometimes it’s hard to know what to focus on or what will sell the best!

If Possible, Incorporate Seasons & Events into your Pieces

Rather than following trends, why not follow seasons and events and work these into your pieces? I have found this works really well for sellers. For example having Halloween themed products in October or Green things for St. Patrick’s Day. Your chance of being picked for the front page of Etsy and on e-newsletters increases as well as searches for these products by customers.

Be a Specialist in Your Chosen Category

I also really like sellers that specialise in one particular item. If you are onto a good thing… just focus on that and don’t try to dabble too much into other areas.

Another area that seems to do well online is wedding products. There is always a market for weddings so designing elegant jewelry, hair accessories and even wedding invitations usually work very well.

Firstly, Knowing Your Market.

You may think you know who you are targeting, but sometimes it isn't that obvious. Work out who your ideal customer would be and find out their interests!

When I first started creating I sought feedback from local stores and family and friends. Sometimes family can be too positive about your creations and you can get stuck in a bubble. Be open to honest criticism and find out what you are doing right and wrong for your ideal market. It may be the case that you have to shift your focus as your market may actually be elsewhere.

I found recently that I was trying to target like minded females, however I actually found that males were purchasing more often from me! They were buying my creations as presents for their girlfriends - something I completely overlooked. Originally I was very hung up on price in order to make it in the market but soon realised that if 80% of my business is gift purchases, price isn't necessarily the first priority. So this has shifted my focus, now I stay true to myself and create pieces that are unique to the market while also considering price.

My current market is continually changing as I develop my product and as my designs grow with me. Which is what will happen with most sellers as their tastes change and as trends change, so too will your market and product which brings me to the next topic... product development - how it comes about and what you can do to improve your creations!

I have a few favourite materials I like to work with when creating my earrings and other jewellery designs. What are your favourites?

Right now I love designing with Chain - Sterling Silver, Black and even dabbling with Gold. You will notice as I add more Noogal Creations they will be Chain inspired.

I also love Cherries so there will be a few Feather and Cherry designs combined with chain added shortly.

I have always loved Swarovski Crystals but have also found a new love for Czech glass beads, so more of these will be incorporated into my designs.

One popular feather design I created in 2008 combined local Lampwork beads with feathers. I got a few sales of this one particular design over the years which is exciting! Well after much deliberation and soul searching... I told myself 'think positive and just keep creating because you love it!'

Turns out it worked! I got 3 sales over the weekend. Thats a record for Noogal Creations! I'm excited to say that one was an Aussie and 2 from the US!

My Goal is looking reachable! Down to 22 more sales for the year and I would have made it!

My Goal for 2010 is 24 sales! 2 per month.

My Goal for 10 years - quitting my day job and being creative full time!

Currently I haven't had the best sales on Etsy. I have had the most success in selling on Ecrater. I am also currently trying Zibbet and 2Threads.

I create feather and origami earrings along with hair accessories. I think because of the competition in the market I have had a hard time selling. Online selling is very difficult. I'm very glad I haven't quit my day job just yet or else I wouldn't have much of an income to work with! Because I love what I do so much this is what keeps me motivated to continue to add items to these sites!
